I’m a digital strategist with a passion for local news and deep experience in media technology. Currently, I am the senior editor for digital at NOLA.com and TheAdvocate.com, the largest news websites in Louisiana. Before that, I spent nine years at CNHI, where I developed strategies for community newspapers to grow online audiences. I’ve edited projects, led teams and built newsrooms from scratch. I oversaw the redesign of more than 100 newspaper websites and smartphone apps. And I led efforts to revamp digital subscription and payment processes, growing revenue and improving conversion rates.
I’m a graduate of the Poynter Institute’s Leadership Academy for Women in Digital Media, and I’ve been named one of Editor & Publisher’s Top 25 under 35. I’m also an experienced public speaker and trainer; I’ve given presentations to the International News Media Association (INMA), the Georgia State Press Association and the Hoosier State Press Association, among others.
In previous roles, I worked as a digital editor for television stations in Charlotte and New Orleans, as well as a newspaper reporter in Lafayette, La., where my work brought clean drinking water to a remote community and freed a man from jail.
I have a master’s degree in journalism, with a focus on media management, from the University of Missouri, and a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from Louisiana State University.
I live in New Orleans with my spouse, AK, and my 12-year-old daughter.
